Helping Make Soup
Jan 5th
Lisa is over for Tuesday dinner and it looks like we are all resolved to eat healthy. Well, almost. She did bring brandied fruit for dessert
. I helped by dicing onions and peppers, and pressing garlic. I sliced cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches.
Morning Routine
Jan 5th
Aurora gets breakfast first followed by her morning insulin shot. I should be helping in the kitchen, at least to make our standard yogurt mix of yogurt (plain, whole milk), protein powder (vanilla), granola, and fruit (raspberries today). But this morning I slept in and watched SportsCenter to catch up on the big game last night.
Go Broncos! 94-11 record over the last 8 years including two perfect seasons capped by BCS Fiesta bowl victories.
Then we head out for a short walk down to Greenbelt Center and back. Sometimes we walk over the lake instead. Aurora walked pretty fast today, coming off of a limp she had over the weekend. The wind chill was mild for most of the walk. Eva commented that the trees would bud soon and I still don’t understand her attachment to winter. But it suits her and that makes me happy and warm. Or maybe that is from the scarf (hand knit, of course) that I’m wearing as I pull it up over my nose.
Back at the house, Eva is dressed and out the door before I can finish this post. Aurora is still working on her marrow bone. She gets my yougurt bowl when I’m done with breakfast. I’ll watch Law & Order or something before I take Aurora over to day care and make the 8 minute commute to work.
